Jon Negroni's theory
Howdy there! Funny to see you here reading again. But let's get to what you're probably wanting to read about. Here we're going to explain what Jon Negroni's theory is.
Jon Negroni's theory is pretty popular on the internet, and shows us all the movies that connect. On his own website he explains how all the Pixar movies are in the same universe and what century they're in. It first starts with the Brave movie in which he believes it would take place around the 14th to the 15th century. This movie takes place in medieval Scotland, and it's the earliest Pixar story to be told. It introduces us to the concept of animals being shown with human emotions. Also, Merida, the main character, discovers magic and finds that magic comes from an odd witch who seems to be connected to the mysterious will-of-the-wisps. Here, we also see inanimate objects behaving human like in the witch's shop. With The Incredibles following up next around 1950's-1960's, this shows the idea of a self serving artificial intelligence from the Omnidroid made by Syndrome. These are the first hints that point towards machines taking over by eliminating the Superheros or superiors in their way. It also shows that artificial intelligence is progressing, which is a big thing for our theory here. For Toy Story, he thinks it would take place in 1997-1998, and this is because Toy Story 2 officially takes place in 1999, therefore, making it necessary for it to be earlier than 1999. Toy Story is the first movie that we see any signs of life in inanimate objects, possibly because of the Zero point energy from Syndrome. An unintended effect of Syndrome's power could be this. With this though, we see that sentient objects seem to follow a code of rules and live on human love. Jon thinks that Toy Story 2 would've taken place around 1999. Toy Story 2 shows us the motivation of "life" for the toys. Isolation from humans is a lethal thing, but to be able to be a museum interaction is a utopia for them. We also see resentment from toys like Jesse, though, when she was discarded.
Then, there's a small time jump compared to the jump between Brave and The Incredibles, but the next movie on his Pixar theory time line is in 2003.This is Finding Nemo. During this movie we see growing intelligence of the underwater network of fish trying to save them self from humans. It's the first movie to truthfully show any disliking towards humans for polluting their homes, and taking fish away from them and caging them. It's also one of the first movies to show the progression of animals. Dory's intelligence, which is being able to read and speak to whales shows a jump in animal evolution. The next movie that would "take place" in time would be in 2007 in which Ratatouille shows animals interacting and becoming friends with humans. Growing fear of humans is evident though with the movie point coming from the perspective of a rat. Humans are shocked, though ,in the movie to see the intelligence of animals. Another thing to shock us though is that during Ratatouille, Finding Nemo, and Up, in that order is the stage for an all out war in regard to animals. Eleven years after Toy Story 2, we see the mortality of sentient objects being shown once again, and the resentment of human through Lotso Huggin' Bear. This is shown through his organized efforts in the day car. In the movie though, we see a reference to the Buy-N-Large company (BNL) on Buzz Lightyear's batteries. Up is a movie we know has to take place after Toy Story because during Toy Story 3, you can see a postcard form Carl and Ellie on his wall, so around 2011 to 2016. Meaning this movies took place before Ellie died. Up is a big turning point on animal evolution and it's bitterness with humans. Charles Muntz, a shunned scientist, created a translator to be able to train an army of dogs more efficiently. This experiment is the tipping point between the humans and animals. It's been thought that Charles had heard a rumor about the intelligence of animals from the "villain" of Ratatouille, who was Chef Skinner. Chef Skinner had learned about animals being able to do a better job than humans, but what did he do with that information? Another thing is that this whole journey started because the company, BNL, is expanding the city and is the corporation controlled by machines.
Jon then believes that the next time period represented by the Pixar movies would be around 2100-2200. This would be after the events of Up, in which the company, BNL would take over the world, which is credited by a commercial we see in Wall-E. BNL takes over the world by meeting all human needs at any time, leading to the continuous circle of humans relying on the machines, and the machines helping the humans. With this happening, it leads to pollution of the Earth, and the machines send humans away, and to come back once earth is cleaned. Once the humans are gone though, machines are the dominate species, which is where the movie Cars fits in. Though evidence of humans are still there through the movie with the evidence of human customs and use of traditional landmarks. This dominance most likely takes place 600-700 before the events in Wall-E because the Earth had been polluted due to the use of oil, which is shown in Cars 2. Now Jon Negroni's theory brings is to the time period of 2800-2900. This is centuries later after the machines lose the Earth due to pollution. Wall-E frees the humans from the AutoPilot though, saving the last part of plant life. Allowing machines, humans, and animals a second shot at living on Earth.
In the time period around 2898-3000 A Bug's Life takes place and shows us how the insect population has grown with the world without humans. There are a few references to this, but it's that human are not evident there, and that bugs aren't scared of them. Though their societies are like humans, they are so much more advanced then us. In A Bug's Life they even have cities, bars, and have made their own machines. 1500 years later, the next part of our theory takes place around 4500-5000. With this distant future for us, we think animals have evolved to replace humans as the dominant species. This is to the point that humans have been completely forgotten. These monsters who are now "human" like, go to school. What we're told is that they go to a school called Monsters University that was founded in 1313. This means that the monster civilization have based their calender over the past 1000 years. Without the humans though, their source of energy is gone, so they created "doors" that is a means of time travel, that allowed them to harvest energy from when humans were still the dominant species. By the end of the movie though, you can see that the monsters have learned how to harvest the energy through love and laughter instead of fear. This ends Pixar timeline at when animals, humans, and machines have achieved balance and harmony. Or so we thought. After Boo had seen the animal world, and has seen they have intelligence like Sully (Kitty). She goes to find her friends and discovers how to use the doors in her part of this theory which is more in the late 2000s to travel back and forward in time. This is when she appears in the time period of Brave and is the crazy witch obsessed with wood because it's the source of what makes the doors travel. She's able to change people into bears, by using the magic of the will-o-wisps, and contains a drawing of Sully in her workshop.
